A completely new event - DeutschMann® Rally Trebišov was included in the calendar of the Slovak rally championship. Igor Drotar, who was at the inception of a new rally, revealed the details of the idea in the interview.
Igor, the rally was not running in Trebišov. How begun the idea to organize a rally in Trebišov?
Rally is an exceptional sport. Exceptional sports can not exist without extraordinary people and without exceptional companies. We see it in Formula One races or rally world championships, where the largest multinational companies become partners of the event and allow such competitions to exist so that people get what they wish for, to have their dose of adrenaline and to make all the rest about the event. This was the reason for the rally in Trebišov. There is one super company, DeutschMann, which is also my partner. DeutschMann is located in a beautiful city, but there is no motorsport ... DeutschMann's representative Mrs. Poništova addressed me with the idea of helping to bring something extraordinary to Trebišov. Managed to. As soon as the first year of the DeutschMann® Rallye Trebišov was established, it was a connection between sport and culture, and nothing better for people can ever be.
How do you recall the first year of the competition - did it meet your expectations?
The first year did not meet my expectations. I did not even think in my dream that I could expect something like that. Not only with regard to the sporting aspects of the competition, the logistics, the arrangements, but especially the cultural program, which has added most to it. The first year was a great joy for me, but I feel a bit afraid if something can be improved. It's a wonderful competition and I think it deserve praise from everyone. I have heard experts and even laymen speak for this event – all positive.
What do you expect from the second year?
I would love to repeat something similar to the previous year. As I can tell the owner of DeutschMann, she is still able to surprise with something. We will see.
